Biography
Soprano Lucie Silkenová studied in the class of Ivan Kusnjer at the Academy of Music in Prague, and furthered her training in master classes in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Austria. Her competition achievements have so far included first prize from the Concours International d´Encouragement in Lyon, France (2008), and second prize from the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic (2009). In 2013, she reached the semi-finals of the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition. Since 2010, she has been a regular guest of the Prague National Theatre, as well as guest appearing in the opera houses of Liberec, Plzeň, and Ostrava. She has also earned acclaim on the concert platform, appearing at the Prague Spring Festival (2011 and 2015), the Smetana Festival in Litomyšl, the Janáček May Fest in Ostrava, the Dvořák Festival in Olomouc, the Mahler Festival in Jihlava, among other events, as well as working with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and others. Beyond that, she has to her credit a number of recordings for Czech Radio, and for Navona Records and Arco Diva labels.
