The Audience is centred on the weekly audiences given by Queen Elizabeth II to prime ministers. These audiences are the theme of the play. It is in a way a fairy tale about monarchy in the modern world. The Czech director Alice Nellis cast to the title role astonishing Iva Janžurová who faces a huge change from a young ruler into a contemporary experienced politician.
