29/4/2022
Robert Jindra, the next Music Director of the National Theatre Opera, and our soloist Kateřina Kněžíková were awarded the prestigious BBC Music Magazine Award for the world’s best Vocal recording. Phidyle is an album published by Supraphon, recorded by Kateřina Kněžíková accompanied by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Robert Jindra.
“I am thrilled about the success of artists so closely tied to the National Theatre Opera,” says the Artistic Director of the National Theatre Opera and the State Opera, Per Boye Hansen. “This prestigious award also further confirms the choice of our new Music Director of the National Theatre Opera, Mr. Robert Jindra. Kateřina Kněžíková is well-known as one of the most attractive artists in our opera ensemble and our spectators may appreciate her art in a number of our productions, including Così fan tutte, Rusalka or the new Bartered Bride to be premiered on 26 and 28 May 2022.”
You may look forward to seeing both artists together at the National Theatre in August and September 2022: Robert Jindra will be conducting Dvořák’s Rusalka with Kateřina Kněžíková in the title role on 28th August and 9th, 24th and 28th September. Pavel Černoch will sing the Prince, Jana Kurucová will be alternating with Kateřina Jalovcová in the double role of the Foreign Princess and the Witch, and Günter Groissböck, well-known from the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts, will be the Water Goblin.
