Biography

Alexandre Corazzola collaborates with the National Theatre Opera in Prague for the first time in the 2024/25 season (Manon Lescaut). He was raised in Düsseldorf, Munich and Vienna by a Bavarian mother and an Italian father. At 17 he went to the United States to study at the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, the Western Michigan University and the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. Since 2008 he has been working as a freelance set and costume designer in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France (Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Hannover, Opéra National du Rhin, Athenée Théâtre Louis-Jouvet in Paris, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Theater Bonn, Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, and many others). Alexandre is an alumn of the International Forum of the Theater Treffen and the Akademie Musiktheater heute of the Deutsche Bank, and teaches at the The Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. In 2018, his set and costume design for the production of Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening at Munich's Schauburg Theatre was nominated for the German Theatre Award Der Faust.
