Biography

Born in Bolzano, Italy, Anna Dal Castello received her initial dance training in her native town at the Evento Danza school under the guidance of Barbara Ante. At the age of nine, she won the Bolzano è Danza international competition. She went on to study at the Tanz Akademie Zürich, with Steffi Scherzer and Oliver Matz, graduating in 2017.

While still a student, she performed at the Ballet Gala Ludwigsburg, Die Welt zu Gast in Munich and other shows. In 2016, she was granted a scholarship for talented young artists from the Migros-Kulturprozent Wettbewerb in Switzerland. In 2017, she attended a trainee programme at the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam.

In 2018, Anna joined the Czech National Ballet, where she has appeared in the productions Swan Lake, The Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadère, Onegin, La Fille mal gardée, as well as in performances of contemporary and neoclassical ballets, including Kafka: The Trial, The Little Mermaid, Serenade, Le Sacre du printemps, Coppélia, Romeo and Juliet (Gypsy), and Sheherazade by Mauro Bigonzetti. Her repertoire also includes performances in modern works such as Petit Mort by Jiří Kylián, Bill by Sharon Eyal, Handman by Edward Clug, Frank Bridge Variations by Hans Van Manen, Fly Paper Bird by Marco Goecke, Moving Rooms by Krzysztof Pastor, and Cinderella by Jean-Christophe Maillot.
