Anna-Sofia Kirsch

Anna-Sofia Kirsch studied scenography in Dortmund. Thereafter, she was engaged as a set design assistant at the Munich Kammerspiele and the National Theatre Mannheim. In 2018, she created the sets for Monteverdi’s Marienvesper in a staging by Calixto Bieto in Mannheim. Since 2021, Anna-Sofia has worked as a freelance set designer, realizing stage designs and scenographic projects at the Theater Dortmund, National Theatre Mannheim and the German national garden show BUGA23 in Mannheim and collaborating with stage directors including Calixto Bieito and Krystian Lada. Together with the stage director Victoria Stevens, she was awarded the 2nd prize at the European Opera-Directing Prize 2022 (Opera Europa/Camerata Nuova). Upcoming project include set designs for the Opernhaus Zürich and the Hannover State Opera.
