Biography

Mr. Swain has performed the roles of Dr. Gregg in Gallantry, Vogelsang in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief at the Louisiana College Opera Theater. He also performed the role of The Grinch in Seussical the Musical at Theater Louisiana College. After joining Lamont Opera Theater in 2022, Mr. Swain appeared as The Pilot in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince. He made his European premiere in 2023 singing Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at Berlin Opernfest. In 2024, he was seen as Demetrius in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Lamont Opera Theater and will be returning to Berlin Opernfest as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.

In addition to stage experience, Mr. Swain has performed numerous times in concert. In 2014, Mr. Swain joined Seicento Baroque Ensemble where he performed multiple concerts as a chorus member. He was a soloist and founding member of SoundCity Singers of Seattle, WA in 2019. Most recently, Mr. Swain was the soloist for a performance of Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.
