Cinzia Lo Fazio

Biography

Cinzia Lo Fazio is an Italian scenographer and production designer with an extensive career in film and theater. In 1980, she began working as an assistant to scenographer Luciano Ricceri, which led to a 22-year-long collaboration. During this time, she worked alongside renowned directors such as Ettore Scola and Giuliano Montaldo, alternating roles as scenographer and supervisor in international projects. Her notable film projects include Angels and Demons (2009), Red Notice (2021), and Tut (2015). In 2010, she began collaborating with the Kenneth MacMillan Foundation and has since worked as the European supervisor for the Royal Opera House in London. In 2024, she made her European debut as a scenographer with the ballet Gustavia at the Royal Swedish Opera, financed by the Swedish crown. The production reveals the previously unknown story of the life of Swedish Prince Gustav from the 18th century. In addition to her work in film and theater, Cinzia Lo Fazio is the author of the documentary Tutte le cose che restano – Studio E.L. a Cinecittà, a tribute to Ettore Scola and Luciano Ricceri and their creative studio in Cinecittà. This documentary was presented at Bif&st 2024 as part of a special program.
