Biography

Born on in the United Kingdom, Fraser Roach began his ballet training at The Royal Ballet School, attending both White Lodge and the Upper School from 2011 to 2017. During his studies, Fraser refined his technique and artistry, laying the foundation for a distinguished professional career.

In 2017, he made his professional debut as a guest dancer with the Opéra National de Bordeaux. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Stuttgart Ballet, where he danced from 2017 to 2020. Fraser’s time in Stuttgart was marked by performances in iconic ballets, including Romeo and Juliet, Onegin, Swan Lake, and The Taming of the Shrew by John Cranko. He also performed as Graf Larish in Mayerling (Sir Kenneth MacMillan), Herzog in Die Kameliendame (John Neumeier), and The Visitor in Lulu. Eine Monstretragödie (Christian Spuck). Fraser's repertoire also extended into contemporary works, such as Marco Goecke’s Fancy Goods and Nanine Linning’s Revolt.

In 2020, Fraser joined the Czech National Ballet, where his talent and versatility have shone across a diverse repertoire. His classical roles include Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Prince Gremin in Onegin, Rothbart in Swan Lake (all by John Cranko), the Prince of the West in Sleeping Beauty (Márcia Haydée), and Shawn in A Streetcar Named Desire (John Neumeier). Contemporary and neoclassical highlights include Petit Mort and Sechs Tänze by Jiří Kylián, Marco Goecke’s Fly Paper Bird, William Forsythe’s The Second Detail, and Cayetano Soto’s Prelude und Liebestod.

An accomplished choreographer, Fraser has created several works that blend classical and contemporary sensibilities. His notable choreographies include Carpe Diem (2021) and Boys a Bug (2024) for the Czech National Ballet, as well as the short films Into Dust (2023), showcased at the Mumbai Film Festival, and YET WHY DO I SAY THIS? (2022), presented at the House of Lobkowicz NFT gallery. His earlier work, Demon Days (2018), was performed by the Stuttgart Ballet.

Fraser’s unique artistic voice extends beyond the stage. In collaboration with institutions such as TED Talks and The National Gallery in Prague, he has demonstrated his ability to connect with diverse audiences. With his technical prowess, and dynamic stage presence, Fraser continues to captivate audiences worldwide as both a performer and creator.
