Ing. Igor Vida

Biography

Igor Vida first studied the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, and he later moved on to the General Management Programme at Harvard Business School. His carrier took off in 1992 at Tatra Bank as the head of the monetary and foreign exchange markets department. He was also the manager of treasury and investment banking. In 1997 he became a member of the board of the Tatra Bank, and since 2007 he has acted as the CEO and chairman of the board. Igor Vida is married with three children. He has received many appraisals for his management skills, including the title of Manager of the Year in Slovakia (Trend magazine, 2008), the HR Gold prize for the Human Resources Management Personality (2013) or the Most Respected CEO of the Year 2014 (Forbes and PwC). From May 2009 until April 2015 he also served as the president of the Slovak Banking Association.
