Biography

Soprano Karolína Levková makes her debut at the National Theatre Opera in the 2023/24 season as Giannetta in a new production of L’elisir d’amore at the State Opera. In 2020, she graduated from the Janáček Conservatoire in Ostrava under Marta Jirásková and since then, she has been studying at the University of Ostrava under Eva Dřízgová. She is a laureate of a number of Czech and Slovak international singing competitions, including the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 2022, where she won the first prize in the Junior category and five other awards, including the National Theatre Opera Prize in Prague. She has guest appeared at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava as L'Enfant (Ravel: L'Enfant et les Sortilèges), Dido (Purcell: Dido and Aeneas), Cupid (Monteverdi: Il ballo delle ingrate), Maria (Bernstein: West Side Story), Lidka (Smetana: Two Widows), Esmeralda (Smetana: The Bartered Bride) and The Shepherd (Wagner: Tannhäuser). She has worked with the Frýdek-Místek Symphony Orchestra and has performed at festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad (Smetana's Litomyšl, Les Musicales de Louvergny in France).
