Lenka Vagnerová
Biography
Lenka Vagnerová works as an independent choreographer, dance teacher and rehearsal director in international dance scene. She choreographed for several dance companies and theatres. Her choreographic works have received many awards and nominations. Lenka has been teaching regularly and running workshops in festivals, theatres, dance schools and companies in different countries. Lenka studied pedagogy of modern dance at HAMU (Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague) with Ivanka Kubicová. As a performer, she has been cooperating with the following choreographers and groups: Claude Brumachon-Benjamin Lamarche CCNN in Nantes, Akram Khan Company – London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony 2012, Cirk La Putyka, DOT504, Jozef Fruček and Linda Kapetanea, Liz King, Veronika Riz, Barbora Kryslová-Greiner, Jan Kodet, Bratislavské divadlo tanca, Torzo Ballet etc. As a dancer, she received three nominations for the Thalia Award (2003, 2005 and 2010). In 2003, she became the Dance Personality of the Year (Nokia Dance Award). In 2005, the Czech Dance Platform named her the Dancer of the Year. As a choreographer of Lenka Vagnerová & Company Lenka has choreographed and directed many author's productions: The Lešany Crib, Gossip, Sorcerer, La Loba, Riders, Mah Hunt. As a guest choreographer Lenka has created and directed perfomances for differen teatres and companies, for example.: Norrdans, 2 Faced Dance Company, NSDC Leeds, Viirus Theatre Helsinki, Minor Theatre Prague, Accademia Nazional Di Danza Rome, Dot504, Elledanse, Etc. Lenka directed and choreographed two productions for Minor Theatre Prague: Robin Hood and Snow Queen. Lenka has been teaching regularly and running workshops in festivals, theatres or dance schools. For example: GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Ballet de Marseille, Norrdans, Danish Dance Theatre, Skanes Dance Theatre, Stopgap Dance Company, Viirus Theatre Helsinki, Accademia Nazional Di Danza Rome, Cirk Cirkör, National Theatre Prague, Theaterwerkstatt Hannover, Il Giardino delle Esperidi Festival, Israel Festival 2012, Academy Of Performing Arts Prague, Prague Conservatory, etc. Lenka participated in the formation of the Czech dance group DOT504 and in 2009, she took part in the foundation of the leading Czech new circus company Cirk La Putyka. As a choreographer, Lenka is engaged in drama theatre, opera or new circus projects. She choreographed for example for: Minor Theatre, National Theatre in Prague, City Theatres of Prague, South Bohemian Theatre, Klicpera´s Theatre, the Summer Shakespeare Festival in Prague, etc. In 2011, 2014, 2016 she worked as a Rehearsal Director in the Swedish company Norrdans.
