Biography

A graduate of the Duncan Centre in Prague, since 2001 Linda Caridad Fernandez Saez has been a soloist of BaToCu, an African dance and rhythm group, with whom she has given a number of performances at the Dance Prague festival and appeared on stages throughout the Czech Republic. From 2005 to 2009, she was a member of the JAD Dance Company, specialising in modern jazz, hip hop and body drumming. She and the Senegal-born choreographer Kaolack (Jant–bi company) created the duet Maan AK Maon (Me and Her), which was presented at the Centre national de la dance in Paris. Linda has pursued a wide range of artistic activities. She is a member of the renowned Cirque du Soleil and the Prague-based Jalegado Dance Company, and she previously also performed with Jana Burkiewiczowá’s Burki&Com. As a choreographer and movement adviser, Linda has regularly worked with the Slovak stage director Dodo Gombár. Moreover, she participated in the experimental theatre project Pexeso, directed by Adéla Stodolová and performed at Prague’s Galerie Rudolfinum.
