

Biography
Mezzo-soprano Martiniana Antonia makes her debut at the National Theatre Opera in May 2024 as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro). Born in Romania, she studied at the National University of Music in Bucharest and was a member of the National Theatre Opera Studio in Mannheim. She has won several awards in national and international competitions, including first prize in the AsLiCo competition in Como, Italy. In 2017 she participated in the The Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda“ in Pesaro and made her debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Il viaggio a Reims in the roles of Marchesa Melibea and Maddalena. She has returned to the festival as Elmira (Ricciardo e Zoraide), Azema (Semiramide), Clarina (La cambiale di matrimonio), Doralice (La Gazzetta) and in August 2024 as Cleone (Ermione) and Maddalena (Il viaggio a Reims). She has also made guest appearances at the Mannheim National Theatre as the Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore), Clotilde (Norma), Cherubino, and others, and at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona as Angelina (La Cenerentola) and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia).
