Biography
The German bass Patrick Zielke is a prizewinner of the Concours Ernst Haefliger and the Richard Wagner Competition. After a two-year engagement at the Luzerner Theater he joined the ensemble of the Theater Bremen where he gave his house debut as Daland (Der fliegende Holländer). Further role included Gurnemanz (Parsifal), Boris Izmailov (Lady Macbeth von Mzensk) and Gianni Schicchi. Since 2017, Zielke has been a member of the Nationaltheater Mannheim where he debuted as Baron Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier), König Marke (Tristan und Isolde), Rocco (Fidelio), Fafner, Hunding and Hagen (Der Ring des Nibelungen) and Hermann (Tannhäuser). He has also guest appeared at the Oper Frankfurt as Peneios (Daphne); at the Theater Basel as Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte) and Hagen (Götterdämmerung) and at the Staatsoper Stuttgart as Hagen/Alberich (Götterdämmerung) and Dikoj (Káťa Kabanová), among others. In 2020, he was awarded the German Theatre Prize „Der Faust" (in the category "best singer-actor in musical theatre") for his portrayal of Baron Ochs at the Theater Bremen.
