Paul Zoller

Biography

Austrian set designer Paul Zoller studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the universities of Michigan and Berlin. He has participated in several competitions and exhibitions. He is a co-founder of the art group The Poor Boys Enterprise. He trained in scenography with Erich Wonder at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and has worked with Andreas Homoki, Georg Tabori, Lorenzo Fioroni, Thilo Reinhardt, Jetske Mijnssen, Julia Hölscher and Mario Schröder. His scenographic projects have been realized at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opernhaus Zürich, Komische Oper Berlin, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, BAM New York, Edinburgh Festival, Opéra-Comique, Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Köln, Oper Leipzig, Theater Basel, Aalto-Theater Essen, Opernhaus Dortmund, Nationaltheater Weimar, Staatstheater Kassel, Münchner Musikbiennale and Hebbeltheater Berlin. In 2012 and 2014 he was nominated for the Faust Prize in Germany. Since 2012 he has been lecturing in scenography at the Technical University of Berlin.
