Roberta Guidi di Bagno
Biography
Roberta Guidi di Bagno was born in Rome, Italy and for the past 48 years has worked extensively with many of the major opera houses and ballet companies around the world including Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Queensland Ballet, English National Ballet, Zagreb National Theatre, Spoleto Festival Italy and USA, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Semperoper Ballett Dresden, Aalto Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Teatro San Carlo Napoli, Maggio Musicale Firenze, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Teatro Filarmonico Verona, New National Theatre Tokyo, Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Shanghai Ballet, Staatsballet Berlin.
Two of her latest accomplishments in 2023 were Francesco Ventriglia’s World Première of A Thousand Tales for the Dubai Opera House and the opening of Aaron Watkin’s English National Ballet’s season with new sets and costumes of Balanchine’s Theme and Variations.
Her next future projects – after Ronald Hynd’s Coppélia – include a revival of Balanchine’s Coppélia with Pacific Northwest Ballet and a new production of sets and costumes for Stanton Welch’s world première of Raymonda, commissioned by the Houston Ballet for their 2025 Season.
During her international career, Roberta Guidi di Bagno has also designed for opera and film and has received some prestigious awards for her artistic accomplishments such as: Positano Massine Prize for Ballet (1997), Premio Anita Bucchi (2011) and Giornale della Danza Best Costume Designer (2012).
