Biography
Russian soprano Svetlana Aksenova graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in her native Saint Petersburg. She was invited to join the ensemble of the Theater Basel, where over several seasons she developed her repertoire. It includes the roles of Desdemona, Lisa, Rusalka, Cio-Cio-San, Mimi, Amelia, Luisa Miller, Marguerite (Faust), Marguerite and Elena (Mefistofele), Adriana Lecouvreur, Tosca, Aida, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Lisa in The Queen of Spades, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, the title role in Zazà etc. She has guest appeared at the Theater Dortmund, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Rome Opera, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Opéra de Paris, Zürich Opera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Theater an der Wien, the Palm Beach Opera in Florida, Dallas Opera, and the Teatro Municipal in Sao Paolo, among other.
