Serenade – Separate Knots – Le sacre du printemps
This performance goes beyond the limits of time not only with its name but also with its perfect ballet forms, pure beauty and breathtaking effect of contemporary dance. The first part – Serenade by George Balanchine – and the closing choreography – The Rite of Spring by Glen Tetley are great treasures of ballet tradition. The middle part of the evening, Separate Knots, is an original artwork by an Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat who created this intimate duet especially for the Czech National Ballet.

About
Watching Timeless performance is highly exciting, especially considering the fact that The Rife of Spring is so demanding that the dancers are pushed beyond their physical limits.
The middle part of the evening, Separate Knots, is an original artwork by an Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat who created this intimate duet especially for the Czech National Ballet.
The author plays out an interesting game of “two knots, worlds, energy fields that are separated”. Part of the performance is also live music – a piano virtuoso plays F. Chopin and adds another timeless dimension to the piece. There is one more thing about Separate Knots that is remarkable.
Emanuel Gat created his work for three different casts that are uniquely mixed: There are two males, two females and a male and a female. These three pairs take turns, each evening there is a different pair on stage. They bring very different interpretations due to gender differences but also thanks to their unrepeatable creativity, personal vibe and refreshing moments of unpredictability.
