This family-friendly unique double-bill features two short versions of timeless classics adapted into one special evening for the holidays.

Celebrate the Christmas spirit with our new musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic: A Christmas Carol. Wholesome and big-hearted, A Christmas Carol fills the auditorium to the brim with mince pies, music and merriment. A unique staging immerses the audience in this new adaptation . 75 minutes no interval performed in English.

Following the interval after A Christmas Carol, join us for part two of our special holiday family-friendly celebration: a new holiday Short Shakespeare adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream “re-seasoned” and  transformed for the winter season into A Midwinter Night’s Dream!

Set in a magical winter-wonderland forest filled with fantastical fairies, sprites and legendary creatures, this Midwinter Night’s Dream, cuts through the centuries to bring audiences a fresh, moment-by-moment take, designed to flow as effortlessly for contemporary audiences as Shakespeare’s beloved classic played to the Elizabethans. A glittering, sparkling holiday gift from PSC to audiences, this enchanting and spell-binding production will delight audiences of all ages.

Directed by PSC Artistic Director Guy Roberts and starring PSC Associate Artists Jessica Boone, Elissa Levitt, Stephan Wolfert, Dawn Stern, Jeffrey Smith, Renee Lamari, Begum Burian alongside other PSC favorites and participants of the 2024-25 Winter Shakespeare Intensive from PSC.

    Where to buy tickets

    When purchasing online, you can get an e-ticket. You can pick up printed tickets in person at the box offices of the National Theatre.

    The National Theatre sells tickets up to 6 months in advance - currently for February–July 2025.
    Sales always start on the 1st day of the month at 9am, except in January when pre-sales do not start until the 2nd day due to a public holiday.

    What to wear?

    By their appearance, attire and behaviour, the audience is obliged to adhere to the accustomed practice expected from them when attending a theatre performance.

    Parking at the Estates Theatre

    Unfortunately, there is no parking near The Estates Theater. You can use the guarded parking lot in the Kotva shopping center (Revoluční 1/655, Prague 1) and Paladium (Na Poříčí 1079 / 3a, Prague 1).
