About
Sirqus Alfon, a Swedish award-winning electro punk pop band, creates a novel theatre experience through fusion of various genres. Their scenic projects blur boundaries and layer reality in such a unique and crazy way that makes it impossible not to love them, as the critics put it. Sirqus Alfon’s distinctive poetics is born from a sophisticated combination of interactive technologies and lasers, AI, optical illusions and video loops, underscored with a wide musical spectrum. Their ingenious trait lies in the unique concept where each act is not just a spectacular theatrical show, but primarily an unexpected artistic and highly entertaining experience.
Sirqus Alfon has entertained, captivated, provoked, and astonished the audience for over two decades. The three friends Erik Rosales, Martin Östman and Henrik Strindberg started with street theatre as teenagers, walking on glasses or swallowing fire. Eventually, they toured the whole world, winning the audiences from Bolivian punk clubs to East-German squats, and attended America’s Got Talent with success. Several principles engage in a dialogue in their shows, creating an “all inclusive art” where hi-tech magic meets authentic human presence, music and ideas.
Excerpts from reviews:
”The tempo is high, the music pulsates, and the contact with the audience seems almost total.”
”Play 3.0 cannot be put into any genre. Possibly a completely separate department within the performing arts. These are unique experiences that are offered to the spectators.”
