The documentary Márcia Haydée: The best is still to come

We began to prepare the premiere in the spring of 2020, went through three pandemic waves, one company quarantine, three postponed premiere dates, studied the ballet with the State Opera Orchestra but due to government regulations had to stage it online with the Santiago de Chile Philharmonic Orchestra recording. More than 106 thousand people watched the production online – that was a great success, a miracle.

Márcia Haydée, the legendary prima ballerina and choreographer, visited us several times and reassured us that working and living for art is not only right but deeply meaningful. She said: “I wait for what life brings me. I know the best is still to come.” Let us all wake up every morning with the same belief!

Moreover: The best is really to come! We plan The Sleeping Beauty premiere for live audience in the theatre on 16 September 2021. It is going to be the first premiere in the newly reconstructed State Opera – and a great joy for all.
