International stars at Opera: Zemlinsky 150 music festival

The weekend of 8–10 October is dedicated to the important composer and director of the New German Theatre Alexander Zemlinsky. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth, international stars of the opera and music world will come to Prague.
The opening concert at the National Museum Czech Museum of Music (8 October at 6 pm) will feature pianist Michal Friedlander and cellist Claudio Bohorquez, accompanied by music director Karl-Heinz Steffens (clarinet). At the State Opera, mezzo-soprano Štěpánka Pučálková will perform together with the State Opera Orchestra (9 October at 11 am).
The final concert will feature the world premiere of an opera fragment Malva by Zemlinsky performed by the Opera Soloists Jana Sibera, Jiří Hájek and Josef Moravec. The well-known Lyric Symphony will be performed by international stars Johanni van Oostrum and Michael Nagy.
