Magdaléna Hebousse
Biography
Soprano Magdaléna Hebousse made her debut at the National Theatre in 2022 with the role of the First Shadow in Schulhoff's Flames, directed by Calixto Bieito.
She graduated from the Prague Conservatory under Monika Brychtová and from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts under Helena Kaupová. In 2023 she completed a study internship at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden.
She has also appeared at the National Theatre in Prague as the Young Mařenka in Smetana‘s The Bartered Bride directed by Alice Nellis, and at the State Opera as Giannetta in Donizetti‘s L’elisir d‘amore and Amanda in Ligeti‘s Le Grand Macabre. She appeared as Kristina (Janáček: The Makropulos Affair) at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, and as the Second Wood Nymph (Dvořák: Rusalka) and Soul of the Tree/Mrs.Kalousová (Kučera: Legend of the Misty Mountains) at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec.
She has attended numerous master classes in the Czech Republic and abroad (Anna Samuil, Kateřina Kněžíková, Markéta Cukrová, Antonio Carangelo, Bella Adamová). In 2023 she won the 2nd prize in the Opera category at the Antonín Dvořák International Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary and several special prizes including the National Theatre Prize, the Audience Award, the Jarmila Novotná Prize, the Gustav Mahler Prize and the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra Prize. She participated in the final rounds of the Hans Gabor Belvedere 2023 in Dortmund and CLIP 2023 in Portofino, Italy. She has collaborated in concert with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra, Brno Contemporary Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, North Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra and other ensembles.
